Fontenebro International School is committed to the development of skills and talents.

Fontenebro International School offers an international and bilingual educational project from 1 to 18 years of age. Students are encouraged to reach their full potential, guided on their learning journeys by an involved and comprehensive team of professional educational experts. It is located in the heart of the Guadarrama mountain range in the northwest of Madrid, and belongs to International Schools Partnership, one of the largest teaching groups in the world.

They offer a methodology focused on the maximum development of children’s skills and abilities, encourage creativity and curiosity and favour entrepreneurship, critical thinking and excellence.

Their motto: ‘Getting better’.

To achieve the above objectives, they work in very small groups and prepare their students thoroughly, equipping them with the knowledge and soft skills they will need to be respectful global citizens and to face the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Its educational project is designed to help them become resilient, honest, excellent communicators, critical and creative thinkers, team players, problem solvers and empathetic individuals.

Fontenebro International School puts all its attention on real learning; in other words, on ‘getting better’, not only academically, but also in terms of personal, emotional and value development. Here teaching is something fun and stimulating, like a challenge you want to take on. In other words, it is a place where ‘Amazing Learning’ takes place and where students are amazed by their own abilities.

International mindset

They encourage multilingual learning as well as an open and global mentality that allows students to function in international and multicultural environments. They offer 90% immersion in English in the infant stage from 1 to 3 years old, and bilingual in the rest of the stages. Alongside multilingual learning, they offer an international curriculum in Primary and Secondary and international experiences abroad.

It is also an official examination centre for Cambridge, Goethë and Delf.

Emotional education and values

The training is completed with a carefully designed programme of emotional education for all the pupils, which favours their emotional, intellectual and social growth. Through this programme, they lay the foundations that will lead them to know and trust themselves, to develop self-esteem and empathy, and to recognise, express and manage emotions, as well as to improve their social and communication skills.

They are also defined by a strong commitment to society and the environment as their students collaborate in service-learning programmes, with Eco-Schools and Green & Outdoor Learning implemented in their curriculum.

One of the 50 most outstanding schools in Spain

Fontenebro International School has once again been selected in the ranking of the 100 best schools in Spain by the newspaper El Español and, on this occasion, as one of the 50 most outstanding. The general criteria that have guided the selection follow the line of rewarding schools that are committed to quality, progress and results: pedagogical innovations, the international projection of the institution, the management models put in place, the qualifications of the students in external assessment tests and the methodologies and instruments used for this purpose.

The latest results achieved, being the school with the highest university entrance mark in the area and with 25% of students at Proficiency level in the last promotion, have contributed, among other aspects, to achieve this recognition.
