Last Thursday, February 15, TEDxEl Altillo International School Youth was held, a prestigious inspiring event in which 12 young students from ISP schools in Spain shared their ideas and knowledge and which took place in the Auditorium of the Cajasol Foundation in Jerez.

Launched in 2009, TEDx is a program of locally hosted events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have been published on TED.com and received millions of views around the world.

The event focuses on the power of ideas to change lives and, ultimately, the world. This philosophy is very much in line with the transformative vision of learning of the ISP Schools (group to which Palacio de Granda belongs) and within the framework of the enriching International Learning Opportunities that ISP offers to all its students.

Aitana, a 1st ESO student, represented Fontenebro International School in this edition and surprised the attendees with her talk about “Social Media, a double-edged sword” in which he demonstrated extraordinary knowledge, maturity and confidence.

Aitana, along with the 12 participants, has gone through a demanding process of selection, preparation, and rehearsals, including external professional training, as well as the assignment of a Support Coordinator at all times and several reviews of her talks in order to receive feedback. of the organizing committee and validate that they comply with the rigorous TEDx rules.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to listen to interesting talks on The Hidden Power of Breathing, The Importance of Reading Different News Sources, The Lifelong Learner Mentality, or Beauty Standards. These talks will soon be available on the TEDx YouTube channel.

The Altillo International School thus had the honor of being the host school for the most prepared and representative voices of the ISP educational community for the debate of relevant and important topics at a global level, in what promises to be a source of inspiration and knowledge and of the impact of these young voices in a constantly changing world in which the power of curiosity and self-confidence are essential keys of the next generation of leaders.

For this event, El Altillo International School has had the collaboration of some of its trusted suppliers whom it would like to expressly thank for their support to the School: Fundación Cajasol, CampusPDI, Mallory, Vistalegre Solutions and Fredes Insa Escuela de Danza y Comedia Musical, who will offer a performance starring a group of students from El Altillo International School.
