FONTENEBRO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WINNER OF THE “RETO 2030” 🏆♻️

On December 3rd, our high school students from the Fontenebro Team were proclaimed winners of the 2021 edition of the  “RETO 2030” organized by the European University.

The European University and the Association of Autonomous Centers for Private Education (ACADE), in collaboration with the Association for the United Nations in Spain, have organized Challenge 20/30 for the second time in a row, a pedagogical challenge that promotes sustainable development among students. youths. 1st and 2nd year high school students from different educational centers in Madrid had to solve challenges based on the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS).

Organized into ten teams, more than 100 students from seven different centers have joined this challenge in which they had to seek innovative solutions to different challenges and global problems that were presented to them.

To help the students, the teams were “led” by their respective tutors and assisted by professors from the European University, who traveled to the center to act as mentors, guiding and motivating them throughout the process.

Throughout the morning of December 3, and under the direction of Saskia Van Liempt and María Rodríguez, teachers of the European University, our students worked to respond to two totally current challenges of the objective of sustainable development:

  • How to reduce poverty among women and youth at work?
  • The role of young people in the face of the climatic emergency.

After a morning of teamwork, providing innovative solutions and presenting an impeccable presentation, the jury decided that our team was the winner, after a complicated deliberation due to the high level shown by all the participating teams.

Nor can we fail to congratulate the other participating team of our College who have done an equally interesting and original work.

A day of Amazing Learning, teamwork, creativity and one more experience to face the new challenges that will come in the future.

The 1st and 2nd year high school students that make up the winning team were: Marcos, Sara, Daniel, Marta, María, Andrea, Carla, Rebeca, Cristina, Adriana, Mariola, Sofía, Raúl, Natalia and Marta

Congratulations to everyone! Good Job!
