ISP FILM MAKERS, developing Talent Beyond the Classroom: The Power of Film in Shaping Our Students
At our school, we firmly believe in a holistic education—one that goes beyond books and classrooms to provide students with transformative experiences. A perfect example of this is the exciting short film project that a group of 11 students is developing to compete in the prestigious ISP competition.
Under the direction of student Alexandra B. B., the team—comprised of Gonzalo, Iván, Hugo, Adriana, Verónica, Elena, Laura, and Lidia, among others—has taken on the challenge of creating a cinematic production from scratch. This initiative not only allows them to explore the world of film from both technical and artistic perspectives but also provides an opportunity to develop key skills for their future, such as leadership, creativity, teamwork, and time management. Some dream of a career in the audiovisual industry, while others simply enjoy the challenge of telling a story through the camera. Regardless of their motivation, all of them are discovering new passions and talents.
The short film they are producing addresses a theme that many teenagers can relate to: the pressure of deciding their future at a young age. Through the story of a young person facing an identity crisis and finding self-acceptance through friendship, the team aims to deliver a powerful message:
“In a world where you can be anyone, choose to be yourself“.
To bring this vision to life, each student has taken on a fundamental role within the team—direction, editing, camera operation, costume design, and more. Under the mentorship of Guillaume, their guide and coach, they have learned to work with a technical script, coordinate efforts, and overcome the challenges of audiovisual production. Although the journey has not been without its difficulties, their commitment, creativity, and determination have allowed them to grow and strengthen as a team.
“Beyond the possibility of winning the competition, the most valuable part of this experience is the learning we’ve gained“, says Alexandra B., the film’s director.
Through filmmaking, our students are developing skills that will serve them in any path they choose for their future. This is the kind of education we take pride in offering—one that inspires, motivates, and prepares students to face the world with confidence and passion.
