International learning opportunities

At Fontenebro International School, we understand that a truly complete education goes beyond the classroom and beyond borders. In an increasingly interconnected world, educating global citizens means providing educational experiences that foster intercultural understanding, critical thinking and the ability to adapt to diverse contexts.

As part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), our school offers students a wide range of International Learning Opportunities (ILOS). These programmes are designed to enrich their academic, personal and social development through direct contact with other cultures, languages and ways of thinking.

What are ILOS?

International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS) are initiatives that enable students from ISP schools around the world to participate in collaborative projects and activities that promote cultural immersion, international teamwork and the development of key 21st century skills. These opportunities are aimed at students of different ages and take place both face-to-face and online.

Through these programmes, our students not only get to know other realities, but also become the protagonists of their own learning by facing new challenges, languages and environments. This contributes significantly to their growth as autonomous, responsible people who are aware of their role in a global society.

International programmes available

ISP Buddy Exchange Programme

This residential programme is aimed at students aged 14 to 17, who have the opportunity to experience an educational exchange at an ISP school in another country. For several weeks, they are integrated into the school and family life of the host country, living a transformative experience that combines academic learning and cultural experience.

Virtual Buddy Exchange Programme (VBEP)

For those who cannot travel, there is a virtual alternative. Through online encounters, students make friends with peers of other nationalities, improving their language skills and learning to communicate in intercultural contexts from the comfort of their own home.

ISP Model United Nations (MUN)

In this programme, students simulate UN debates, representing different countries and discussing global issues. This experience allows them to strengthen their public speaking, negotiation and critical analysis skills, as well as fostering global thinking and empathy.

ISP Futures

This project connects students with the planet’s major sustainability challenges. Through initiatives focused on climate change, innovation and environmental leadership, they develop creative solutions to real problems, working in teams with students from other countries.

ISP International Summer Camp

Every summer, students can participate in an international camp in English, with sports, cultural and educational activities in a safe and multicultural environment. A fun and unforgettable experience that reinforces autonomy and learning in an international context.

ISP Film Festival

A competition in which students explore their creativity through film. From scriptwriting to audiovisual production, participants learn to tell meaningful stories while acquiring valuable technical and narrative skills.

ISP Chess Tournament & ISP Maths Challenge

Chess and maths competitions that encourage logical, strategic and analytical thinking. Through these activities, students connect with other young people who share their interests, fostering collaboration across borders.

ISP Reading Challenge

This challenge promotes reading in different languages and the creation of links between students through literature. It is a way to encourage reading habits and, at the same time, share worldviews through books and authors.
