I MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE LAUDE FONTENEBRO

On Friday, June 18, 11 brave 1st high school students completed the First Mountain Challenge-Laude Fontenebro Mountain Challenge.

During the week, the students participated in a basic theoretical workshop on mountain orientation, design and planning of hiking routes, materials, meteorology, etc; to be able to face the challenge with guarantees.

Two teams of students and teachers were formed, and each one of them carried out the ascent to the peak of La Maliciosa (2227 meters) by different routes.

The students guided the expedition and the 2 teams reached the summit in somewhat harsh conditions, as the fog greatly reduced visibility and made it difficult for the students to navigate.

Once at the summit, we went down quickly towards the Fuente de La Campanilla and the bus, as the weather changed and a storm was brewing.

The forecasts did not fail and we staggered from top to bottom.

Still, the experience was great for everyone and in this activity the students have learned great lessons and values applicable in many areas of life.

We will repeat this great experience next year.
